2024 Basketball Camps

We're excited to announce NWI Premier will be hosting our first youth basketball camps this summer for girls and boys at multiple ages!

Current Ridge View High School Boys Assistant Coaches Austin Moeller & Austin Hansen and Youth Development Coach Mike Modrell will be leading the camps.

We’ll be teaching players complete skill development which includes ball-handling, shooting, and footwork.

Competition and quick decision making will be emphasized to help enhance each player’s individual training goals.

NWI Premier Basketball Coaches

Austin Hansen 

Austin is from Correctionville, IA and played High School basketball at River Valley. He was a 3x All-Conference player during his time there. He’s coached High School Sports at River Valley and Ridge View for the past seven seasons.

He is NASM certified in personal training and is excited to train high school athletes a higher level of basketball. He’s passionate about helping individuals and teams pursue their potential. 

Austin Moeller

Austin is a proud resident of Galva, IA happily sharing his life with his wife and two wonderful children. His basketball journey began at River Valley High School, where he dedicated four memorable years to the sport. From there, his passion led him to coaching various teams, spanning from 5th-grade girls' basketball to serving as an assistant coach at Ridge View High School in boys basketball.

As a certified USA Basketball coach, I prioritize instilling pride and passion in every endeavor. Beyond the court, I find fulfillment in mentoring and guiding young athletes both on and off the hardwood.

Mike Modrell

Mike is from Holstein and a former Galva-Holstein graduate. He played High School basketball all four years at Galva-Holstein and played A LOT of intramural basketball in and after college. Mike currently lives outside the Holstein area with his four beautiful children.

He has been coaching youth recreation basketball for the past five years and coached Ridge View’s Jr High boys basketball last year. Mike also started a successful plyometrics sessions this year for kids in the 5th through 8th grades.

Mike enjoys player development and fundamentals of all aspects of the game and brings high energy/fast paced basketball every time he steps on the court. He has a huge passion for helping kids of all ages reach their full potential.

NWI Premier Girls Junior High Basketball Camp

• Grades: 7th-8th

• Dates: July 1 & 2, 2024

• Cost: $55

• Time: 10:30-12:00pm

• Location: Ridge View High School Gym

In this two day camp, we’ll be reviewing basketball and having some fun! We’ll be teaching players complete skill development which includes ball-handling, shooting, and footwork.

We’ll also be working on court awareness and spacing along with team communication.

The camp is for any player in the surrounding Holstein are currently in the 7th or 8th grade. Campers that register before May 30th will receive an NWI T-shirt!
