NWI Premier 2023-2024 USAV Club

NWI Premier Volleyball is in its fifth year as a USA Volleyball Junior Club Program!

This year we will be hosting tryouts for the upcoming 2023/2024 USA Club Volleyball season. USA Club is an extra commitment to the sport where athletes look to improve their volleyball skill set and IQ. Club sports are becoming a more popular and common experience for those looking to compete at the collegiate level. NWI would like to help facilitate this dream for those in our rural communities wanting more out of their volleyball careers!

TEAMS

NWI Premier will have teams at the 12U-16U age levels this year. We plan on only having one team per age level (that may change based on tryout attendance and athlete abilities) and the teams will compete in many Regional tournaments and in some cases National Competitions. Practices will be twice a week at the Ridge View High School gym in Holstein, IA and possible nearby gyms.

PRACTICES

Practices for the season will begin the last week of November and last until the end of March. All practices will take place at the RidgeView High School in Holstein.

Each team will have 9-10 athletes on it and compete in 5-7 tournaments. Tournament locations will be based on Regional or National commitments per age group.

COACHES

NWI Premier is directed by Darci Boling and assisted by Lauryn Pauley & Charity Anderson. Our entire coaching staff consists of 20+ years of coaching and playing at the collegiate level! At NWI Premier we coach with integrity and care for our athletes. We are committed to exposing and challenging players to a higher level of volleyball. We train our athletes to work hard on the court and how to compete mentally to push ourselves to the highest potential capabilities. At NWI Premier you train to not only be a great volleyball player but you train to compete with character.

All coaches are IMPACT certified & Safe Sport certified. At these certification clinics, coaches learn coaching techniques, drills and how to interact positively with players, co-coaches and parents. Coaches are expected to communicate with players and parents in a constructive, positive, and professional manner.

COSTS

The annual fees for participation depend on the age division of the team and the amount of travel.

TRYOUTS

Pre-Tryout & Tryout dates for 12U-16U are listed above. The Pre-Tryouts will function similar to the tryouts for those that can’t make the Tryout date. If a player attends the Pre-Tryouts and/or Tryouts they will be evaluated and considered for a team. The more looks our coaches get of an athlete’s abilities, the better! Players will be evaluated on skill level, attitude and effort. Basic skills include: passing, setting, hitting, blocking, digging, serving and communication.

Teams are formed based on player evaluation, player position, and team chemistry. Teamwork is highly encouraged and used as a rating element. Understanding these events can be very stressful on young athletes, we strive to make this time positive and fun for all participants. Coaches will evaluate each player and select final team rosters.

All players attending a tryout need to have USAV Membership.

The tryout membership is only good for tryouts and is upgradable to a full membership. Current 22-23 season memberships are good until August 31st. The tryout membership is $15 and can be purchased starting 7/1. It will be good for tryouts starting 7/7 through 12/31/23. COMMITMENT DATES

  Fall Commitment Dates (All offers will expire after these deadlines): 

o   14U and Younger Age Groups - October 31, 11:59pm

o   15U and Older Age Groups - November 7, 11:59pm

There will be Coaches at each tryout evaluating players for each club team. Players will be notified via email within 12 hours after tryouts whether or not they made the select team for their age group. 

There will be a parent/player meeting October 30th from 6:30-8:30pm for those players on the 12U, 13U & 14U Teams.

There will be a parent/player meeting November 6th from 7:00-9:00pm for those players on the 15U & 16U Teams.
